Major writing assignment #1


This assignment is asking to have us interview a person of our choice in the same career field as us and learn the different ways that they use writing in their everyday job. The assignment want us to demonstrate three ways that the person writes out everyday things, such as a website or a blog as well as three ways they write academic letters, for example to corporate offices and potential staff members. This assignment is useful for us so that we know what genre of writing to use for every occasion in the future when we are working in our intended or interested field of study.

Questions:

~ What does it mean when the directions say “ You need 6 sources, three academic and three non academic”. ? How is that a source, do we have to cite it which makes it a source?

~ What are different genres of writing that we should look for?

~ What does APA citation style mean?
